By the way, I use a jib downhaul, a line that is led through the stanchion bases and a block at the bow and snapped onto the top sail hank. In very windy conditions you can pull the jib down from the cockpit and keep it down (with sheets centered), especially when it's too rough and wet to go forward or singlehanding. Food on board is usually something simple or we're eating out. The above is a good example: Marie Callendar's "Fettuccini with Chicken & Broccoli"; pre-cooked, noodles in one bag, sauce/meat/veg in another, just boil the bags for a few minutes and it's done. No dishes! |
